Informative Session on “Rights and Opportunities of Associate Degree Students” Attracted Great Interest

The Career Representation Office of Süleyman Demirel University Atayalvaç Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) organized an informative session titled “Rights and Opportunities of Associate Degree Students.” The event took place on October 16, 2025, at the Atayalvaç SHMYO Conference Hall with the active participation of academic staff and students.

Approximately 40–50 students attended the event, where Career Representative Lect. Dr. Hüsamettin Koçak provided comprehensive information on various academic and career opportunities available to associate degree students. The presentation covered a wide range of topics, including horizontal transfer, DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam), KPSS, double major programs, scholarships, Erasmus+ exchange opportunities, TÜBİTAK 2209 student projects, and İŞKUR youth programs.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Göney, Career Representative of the Department of Medical Services and Techniques, also contributed to the event by providing valuable insights and supporting the interactive discussions.

The session was conducted in an engaging and interactive format, with students asking questions and receiving practical examples to better understand the discussed topics.

 

Feedback revealed that the event was found to be informative, motivating, and guiding, particularly in areas such as career planning after graduation and public personnel examination (KPSS) preparation.

The activity was observed to have increased students’ career awareness, helping them shape their academic and professional goals more consciously and use their university experience more effectively.
