Paramedic Students Received Hands-On Training at 112 Emergency Health Services

Students of the Paramedic Program at Atayalvaç Vocational School of Health Services participated in a comprehensive hands-on training program at the Isparta Provincial Ambulance Service Directorate on 20 November 2025, aiming to strengthen their professional competencies.

During the training, students practiced the functioning of all equipment inside standard ambulances, the layout and organization of the vehicle during emergency interventions, patient transport techniques, and safety procedures. In addition, the operational features, usage scenarios, and access strategies of Pajero 4x4 medical response vehicles—used for interventions in challenging terrain—were explained in detail.

In the obesity ambulance, which is specially designed for obese patients, students were introduced to reinforced hydraulic mechanisms, high-capacity transport systems, and special stretchers, with practical demonstrations of their usage principles.

One of the significant components of the training was the session on the emergency response kit (vaka çantası). Students were taught the airway materials, trauma equipment, medication sets, monitoring tools, and other critical emergency intervention items contained in the kit. Through scenario-based demonstrations, they learned which equipment should be used in which situation and how. Thus, they had the opportunity to directly practice both basic and advanced emergency intervention equipment.

The program was evaluated as an important outcome of the strong sector–education collaboration between SDU Atayalvaç Vocational School of Health Services and Isparta 112 Emergency Health Services. It was emphasized that such collaborations aimed at enhancing students’ practical skills are highly valuable for strengthening program qualifications and contributing to accreditation processes.

As SDU Atayalvaç Vocational School of Health Services, we extend our gratitude to Isparta 112 Chief Physician Dr. Emel ERKUŞ SİRKECİ, all 112 personnel involved in the training, and the Süleyman Demirel University Administration for their support in making this valuable educational program possible.
